possibly, the turn signals.

I recall there was a brown lead that didn't connect to anything. It was related to the running lights or parking lights (turn signals). If you had issolated it to the turnsignals, check that one too.

Not necessarily i suspect you have plugged a wire into the wrong place somewhere

yes there is a brown wire that is not being used. i just unplugged the headlight and put a 7.5 amp fuse in and the turn signals work fine with the headlight unplugged. its like when the turn signals and the headlight are plugged in at the same time its drawing to much power. Any ideas.

I just recently relocated my turn signals... As i recall, the all black (no color collar) was on the bracket, and the one with the collar went to the bulb.

ok so if you notice in the pic there are the terminal ends for both black wires at the bottom where 2 prongs of the bulb connect to. The ground wire is that seperate wire that connects to the screw. any one have any ideas now?

wait what?
i have 2 black wires coming out of the blinker, one for orange and one for orange white, there is an internal ground. and same for the light blue side. I do not know which black wire is which as they are not labeled.

Both of those black wires are hot. That's a front turn signal. The one with the stripe is probably the running light, the other is the blinker. The turn signal unit grounds to the frame.

but what i am saying is i do not have any idea which one has the stripe on it. so how should i find out how to hook it up? What you just said doesnt make sense to me because the light has a ground wire already and 2 pigtails at the bottom of the bulb. so what do i do?

The signal is the brighter of the two filaments in the bulb. If you hook them up wrong they will just light the wrong filament. That isn't the reason your fuse is blowing. BTW, shrink wrap alone isn't a good insulator. I'd check for crossed wires somewhere.

oh :( then why does my headlight work fine when the blinkers are not plugged in. This sucks. I even plugged in the idiot light for the blinker and that plus the back blinkers will flash with the headlight working but as soon as i plug in the actual front blinkers it blows the fuse as soon as i turn the headlight on as well.

what if i only plug in one wire to the bottom of the bulb and then ground the other one at the same location as the ground screw?

yeah tell me about it haha. i am giving myself a headache over here. I am a pretty intelligent person and this is driving me insane. i just know it has something to do with the front blinkers though because like is said.........
not blowing fuse = no headlight and front blinkers running
headlight working with turn signal light and back blinkers working but not the front ones plugged in
blowing fuse = front blinkers connected, headlight plugged in and then blown with turned on.

this is what i was getting at
try
remove headlight
plug both blinker wires in
turn on blinker unplug black wires one at a time
which one turns off blinker orange or orange/wh
then plug both back in and turn on light switch does turn signal light come on or does it blow fuse?

that doesn't really mater as Patrick said both go to a filament in the bulb one is just brighter
than the other but one of them might be grounding out in the housing somewhere

ok let me rephrase this because i think i am getting the wrong idea across. coming out from under the bulb is 2 pigtails. both are black, i think one is supposed to be orange and one is supposed to be orange/white, and same as for the other side. Did that clear things up?

ok let me get this straight

headlight pluged in turn signals unpluged , Headlight works , no blown fuse ?

headlight unpluged turn signals pluged in , turn signals work, no blown fuse?

headlight pluged in , turn signals pluged in,  switch headlight on , blown fuse ?

is this correct ?
