I think the Goldwing is kinda cool too.  It's nice to see a Goldwing that you don't have to be a member of the AARP to ride on...   ;D

Seriously...  Since the OP says that these are for real and not some internet urban legend, is there any time table for actually putting these on the showroom floors at our local Honda dealers?  Or is Honda just throwing these out there to see what our reaction is going to be?

That 1100 looks great! I was at the Honda dealer a few weeks ago looking at a CB919. I really like those and I was thinking about buying one next year. The dealer told me that the 2007 model year is the last year for the naked 919. Maybe the 1100 is it's replacement  :) It took everything I had to walk out of the dealer and not buy a 919, the wife sort of helped to though.....

What's a naked 919 look like? Post a picture as I don't think we get them over here.

Or is it a Hornet 900?

I see that this is 919cc.

Our naked 919 is your hornet. You Europe people have had it before we got ours. Some one tell Honda that some people in the US like naked bikes. Well at least I do...

That goldwing is certainly, uh.....ambitious. Maybe that will be the sport variant but it certainly is less prepaid to tour. Is that not what a goldwing was for? You know, besides taking the front end off for the dual disks ;)

   This pretty much sums it up.   76' CB592 cafe. 69 750 project, 03 CBR954, 75 750 super sport.

The pictured six cylinder concept is not a Goldwing replacement. Read the press releases . . . It is sort of a ultra modern muscle bike using the Goldwing (and Valkrie) opposed six for power.  Compare to the Vmax for instance. I dig it for the most part except the headlight.  The F and R are very nice although I would personally like to see them (particularly the F) with spoked wheels.  Oh and put the Rs upside down forks on the F please.  Cool stuff!

My beef with a bike like the Goldwing pictured in this thread is that they look like something that looked good on a CAD/CAM computer screen, but don't look "real" when met by an actual person.  Lots of plastic...weird headlight...maybe I'm just an old fogey.  Man!  Am I getting crotchety at 35?  You kids!! Get out of my yard!!!

Hey Honda, your starting to do it right. Atlest with that 1100.

Whoa, look at the goldwing!

Cool!  I like it, but the first thing to go would be the rear-end crap hanging over the tire, and the tail light and plate would be tucked nicely up under the seat. Headlight doesn't bother me, in fact I hadn't even noticed it until someone mentioned they didn't like it.  I think it fits nicely with the futuristic design.  Maybe not my kind of bike to own, but it looks cool.  The 1100 is a nice retro look that is long over due.  I asked the Honda dealer a while back if there was anything other than a v-twin cruiser or crotch rocket, and he said "no".  So I told him that until they come back with the older style bike, I wasn't interested in anything on the floor, 'cept maybe an ST1300 or the 'wing.  Hope Japan is listening to us.
