400f spark advance shaft diameter?
« on: September 23, 2007, 11:08:56 AM »
I going to get a Dyna-S system from Z-1 enterprises and the website says to check the diameter of the spark advancer and see  if it is either .530 or .590. They say some 400f models used 750 advancers. So I take the points cover off to check the diameter and I cannot get the vernier caliper in there to measure. Now I don,t want to take everthing apart to measure because the bike is running good and I am buying the Dyna-S as a winter project.Does anybody know the shaft diameter? The bike was made Feb 75 and engine serial is 1025354 if that helps.Thanks.

I don't know about the later 400F's, but the '75 uses the DS1-1.  The unit with the smaller rotor.
