Hey Guys, it's been 10 years since I've been to Colorado and 30+ years since the CB and I have been there. I've never been on the Peak to Peak hwy though. How about puttin' up some photos of your ride for a flatlander who's yearning for a mountain road?

Hey Guys,

Anyone have a spare headlight socket with the 3 wires or just the blue wire from a socket? Just found a broken female connector on the blue wire. If you do I can do a quick repair at Heff's place before the ride.

no problem on the camera thing... i take lots of pics and video and often take it upon myself to compile them w/ video editing software whenever i have time.

about the headlight socket... i'd say email 78k550 (paul) and see if he has one he can bring... is he coming? i haven't heard anything from him really.

I'm in. I'll dig out a headlight plug and bring it along. Super ride yesterday for Emily. I partied hard the last 2 nights and crashed hard last night. I thought I slept all through sunday.
Jerry if you want to meet up a little early at my house then ride up together that works fro me.

Well, the best part of today was riding with friends. There was a tough call LOL j/k after I tried some Cloudberry jam (only from the artic) from heffay's and Elizabeth's trip. I had it as a PB&J. They showed me a 20 minute dvd also of there trip, which was great. Thank's

Great ride guys. I got in 300 miles by the time I got home at dark. Fantastic day. Great weather except a little breezy at times. Beautiful fall Colorado scenery. New friends. What more could you ask for (well maybe a few more beers and a...).

Al - I had forgotten what a NEW SOHC4 looked like. Is that a 77 or 78 550K. ONLY 9000 miles - thats truely disgusting!

Next time I'm bringing an oil can with dirty oil. I'm going to squirt it on your head and below your bike so you'll feel more at home. I hope you get it broken in soon so it can go over 45mph

. We'll have to take you up on the BBQ sometime we're up visiting the mother inlaw. I'll keep in touch for the info on Osaka.

Heffay - Thanks for hosting. I truely feel old now after having met your dad. $:-\$ . Hope he felt more at home with the old guys rather than just hanging with the kids. Glad you finally got to redline that 750 Kamakaze. 12.5 redline, geez! I'm also glad you told me it had 110hp or I'd felt thoroughly embarassed. I was curious to see how a modern bike runs. My bike was running pretty well. Hit 100 in 3rd gear at 10K. Wish I had the 17 tooth front sprocket on instead of the 18. I would have liked to see how mine compared. At least your tail light might have appeared a little larger in the distance

. The 17 would have helped at 10,000 feet too. I have it jetted 10 over stock at 115 which seems to work well at 5,000 to 7,000 feet. I need to work on low/mid range now. I have a new set of needle jets/needles to install one of these years.

Paul - good ride, good pictures. If you need pieces off my right control for the kill switch let me know. Wish I had a good starter button. Don't buy a new one off EBay. Mine cost $74.19 from Service Honda.
That Wing is like the Eveready bunny!! That's about 500 miles for us on 2 short rides this year. Glad my scoot finally got some exercise.

I still want to ride Independence Pass but that will probably have to wait until next year unless you guys just insist on this year

. We could meet up on 285 in Johnson Village just before Buena Vista early one morning for breakfast at the truck stop (good!) before heading to Aspen over the pass. I mapped it by returning via Breckenridge and Hartsel and came out with 425 miles for me. Long day but very doable.

It is nice to work it through the twisties but would really like to be on the 750F.

Independence sounds great I have not been over since 1974 when I was on vacation with family.

My bike like's the rides we have been doing. sure does beat the 2 miles back and forth to work LOL.

Sigh, I gotta work this Saturday

then KY inlaws the next Sat. That gets us to the weekend of the 20th. Won't be long after that that they shut it down for the winter. I enjoy watching you throw the Wing through the curves and Independence would be nice. Thats a learned art.

I also have an old petcock for the 75 tank if you need parts. I gave up and went to Service Honda (gratuitous plug again) for a new one. That sum#$%* doesn't leak ! Didn't think I'd ever see that. You may/do just need the right size metric o-ring. I have an o-ring kit that might have something that would work.

they're all basically the same vids... just me playing w/ settings. the first two are the exact same just different sizes, the 3rd contains more ride footage, less standing around footage, no stills included and is more download intensive. i wish i could up the quality a bit more but, taking a 1.3gig file down to well below 100mb means there is bound to be some quality loss.

modern? well, i suppose but it is 15 years old w/ 43,000+

... i've put 10,000 of those on in the last 2 years. plus all the miles that i put on the sohc4 AND elizabeth's bikes (especially the viffer)

i think dad had fun... all you gotta do is swing the leg over sometimes, ya know?
