New CB550K owner
« on: September 18, 2007, 05:54:42 PM »
Hi, I have a couple of vintage bikes, (1974 RD350, 1976 GT500) and I just bought a 1976 CB550k yesterday. The bike is in great shape with only 6K miles. The chrome and paint are really good, no rust and it runs very well for a 31 year old motorcycle. I took it on a 75 mile ride today and it was awesome. My 2 strokes are going to have stiff competiton for riding time now! I found this forum thorugh the Vintage Motorctcles Owners Group and thought I had better introduce myself before I start asking questions. It looks like a great site so far. Thanks.

Thanks,

I am already enjoying the site. I may even have a lead on some parts I need to make my "new" bike complete. I'm sure I will be asking some questions as time goes by. I have had a couple of Honda 4's inthe past. I had a 1976 CB750f that I bought new and a 1985 Nighthawk 700. I should have kept both of them!

Thanks for the welcome. I forgot to include a picture of my "new" 550. I have removed the luggage rack and crash bars so it is back to stock. I have managed to put 200 miles on it so far, I just can't believe how well it runs and handles for a 31 year old bike. The sound of the 4 pipes take me back to the 70's!
