Headder Wrap or not to Headder Wrap??!!!
« on: September 27, 2007, 08:43:46 AM »
What do you guys think?
Ive heard some wierd conflicting #$%* about this issue.

I have an fugly set of 4-1 headders for my cb750f that I want to put on but I need to either paint it wiht super hight temp paint or wrap them with headder wrap..

Id rather go with the headder wrap but now Im second guessing my decision.

ANyone had issues with headder wrap?

Check this article out:
http://www.centuryperformance.com/heatwraps.asp

now Im not sure what to think...

Thanks
N

i've used it on plenty of steel pipes and never had an issue w/ them rusting out. that pies gets plaenty hot enough to burn off the ecces "watter"

If they are fugly steel, I would clean them up, paint them with the hi-temp paint to help protect them and then wrap them.  I painted my wrap job w/ the high temp paint too to help seal them a little more, don't know if it would help or not, but couldn't hurt.

If they were original perfect condition pipes, I probably wouldn't wrap them and take a chance w/ corrosion... but if fugly steel?  I would do it.

I used VHT paint and Cool-tec wrap.
