HOW TO PUT THROTTLE CABLES ON THE CARBS
« on: September 28, 2007, 05:06:29 AM »
Does anyone have a good tip on how to attach the throttle cable to the round spring loaded wheel that is right above the carbs on a CB 750F?

I got the one that goes on top of the wheel attached but the on that goes under the wheel I am having trouble with.  If you have pics that would be great as well.

The bike has been sitting for a long time and I am just trying to see if the bike will start at all.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dave R

I usually attach the bottom cable first, myself. That just gives more romm to manuever.

also it is easier when the carb is opened fully (if it is the one I am thinking of).

Yeah bottom first.

I just loosened my cables to take off the controls, and will go bottom first when I re-attach the new cables.

Oh another 78  F....  Your cables will be the least of your problems....  ;D

Never really had a problem with it. Take out any expansion slack up by the throttle. Like everyone else I always do the bottom pull cable first. If you just troubleshoot and trying to make it run. Forget the top push cable. Just detach it. You don't really need it at this stage. Put it back on when it's all good.
