I'm incorrigble. What's a good price to offer for this 1970 350?
« on: September 27, 2007, 06:35:40 pm »
I'm still new to bikes and to these bikes, but I'm liking the old CB's.

This came up available semi-locally.

So far no pictures or price. Seller stated his price is "the best offer that does not offend him".

"This bike is 95% intact. It is missing the rear tail light, ignition switch, and battery. This is a 37 year old bike that has been sitting in a barn for 20 years. The odometer shows 2240 miles and the engine is not locked up and does turn over. It is not showroom quality and has cosmetic issues that are age appropriate. This bike is definitely restorable but I do not have the time to restore it. If interested call."

I don't really have the time to restore it right now, but maybe over the summer.  Should have pictures up this weekend so you might actually have an informed answer

sounds like $50 to me...............no more than a hundred.

If you pay too much, you'll insult yourself.

Parts needed will kill a good price.........

It's a twin.
Depending on condition, and wether the title can be found, 75 to 500 bucks.
No.

Well...  Condition means more than anything once you get to bikes this old.

I paid $1800 for my 1979 CB650, but it was as close to new as you will find one.  It was all original and never restored and had only $9000 miles on it and new tires.  It needed absolutley nothing, but a rider.

I paid $400 for my 1973 CB500 project bike, and it was running, in reasonably good condition with new tires, nice aftermarket exhaust and good chrome.  It really just needs a good freshening up to be a nice vintage rider.

There are so many things that can run up the cost of these bikes, that one would really have to see the bike in person and ask some questions to make a judgment call as to what the bike is worth.  There are just to many variables.

A title may not be a deal killer, if your state does not require one.  Alabama does not require a title until 1975.  All you need is a notarized bill of sale.

This is a classic case of "all it needs is..."  A lot of times when you get hold of it and start digging, you'll find more.  Brake caliper will be siezed (unless you got a drum), master cylinder same, tires may have flat spots in them from sitting, clutch gummed up?  Etc etc...  Get a good look at it first...
