I think this qualifies:

and then...

hmmmm..

Joan Collins would have made a better Cleopatra, imho. I think they went with Liz just to keep the flick a GP rating.

I enjoy your pictures a lot Gerhead. Still remember those cool old pics of the Wall of Death.

Thanks for your answers. A camera that doesn't run on batteries can't let you down, innit?

Were you in Abu Simbel too? I've never been to Egypt, it's one more thing in the "to do" list before I die, along with visiting Japan. Andy beat me in that too, but I enjoy his chronicles as if I were him in there. Ain't this forum great?
Raul,
Didn't get to Abu Simbel--That's way down (up) there.. It does need to be seen , though so I'll probably
have to go back sometime.
I flew from Cairo down (up) to Aswan and took a boat back up (down) the Nile for about a week-past the temples.
My "to do" list used to include the ROB in Pamplona, but I took care of that a few years back.
I assume you've done that since it's in your backyard.

Running of the bulls in Pamplona? I'm crazy but not to such extent...

Never been there, nor is something I would love to see. Perhaps it's just that "the grass is greener in the other side of the fence"

I have never been a follower of the bullfighting, it seems a cruel entertainment to me, regardless of how many centuries has it been present in my country. Running of the bulls -even if it is not cruel to the animals- has degenerated a lot. Has become very dangerous because of the amount of people running, most of them without the slightest clue of what to do in case they fall or how to run with the animals. Even worst, drunk people running with the bulls endanger themselves and the rest of the runners.

I have a friend -the same that I mentioned about the whisky and the glass...- who went to Pamplona a couple of years ago. The first thing i asked him is where was he going to stay, as it is very complicated to find a hotel room. He told me he didn't have any, he planned to party all night and sleep in the parks, just as many other people do.....

-After reading Hemingway's "The Sun Also Rises"--I had to make the trip.
There was some drinking--and there was no hotel.
I spent a lot of time arm wrestling fellows in the bars
prior to the 3 p.m. bull fights.
I was a younger lad at the time.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?
