Where's that master cylinder from?
« on: July 15, 2005, 06:50:22 AM »
Hi there,

I'm (finally!) on my quest to get my 550F on the street again. I'm reassembling the engine this weekend to get her running. Next step will be installing the dual disc front. I have a complete front wheel with the discs and speedo drive, an assortment of calipers and some "big" Honda brake M/C that came off a donor 500 on a swap meet.

As it is, the sucker is weeping and spilling its content everywhere.

Question: What bike is this M/C from, what do I tell the parts guy to get a repair kit? 750F SOHC? Goldwing GL1000?

Any help is appreciated,

cheers, Remi

It looks like it came off of a Goldwing GL1000 or one of the other Wings.  I did a dual disk conversion to my 77 750.  I had one off a a Custom but I did not like the look.  The one you have looks more period correct.

The writing on the cap is different than that on my F2, so I'll go along with the Goldwing.

It's a Gold Wing MC, I've got one sitting in a box in my garage which is identical. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
