1968 Kawasaki W2?

Anyone know anything about these bikes?  My brother in law just picked one up from a guy who didn't know what he had...  Apparently it's a Japanese copy of a pre-unit BSA 650 with twin carbs (even has Mikunis that look EXACTLY like Amals, ticklers and everything...)

Only 600 of this particular year/model imported into the US.  The guy who bought it took it with him new from Japan when he did a tour there back in the 60s, and it had been laying in his barn for the last 25 years.

Suffice it to say it doesn't run and it's not in great condition, but it's got everything there.  Anyone know what the bike would be worth today in non-running but complete condition?

Who cares how much is it worth? It's a great-looking bike, restore it and enjoy it. That's what I would do it.

well considering he got it for free....  (I know, I hate him too)

He says he doesn't have time to restore it, and needs the cash more than he needs another bike (he already has 2 in his stable).  He would LOVE to restore it, but just doesn't have the time or the resources.  It would probably cost a lot of $$$ to completely restore it.

The first place I would check is the Yahoo W650 group.  The H is allegedly the predessesor to the W.  Might be worth joining the VJMC to ask that question, also.
I have a feeling that you're in no-man's land pricing/value wise.  Not enough of them around.  Poke around eBay.
