I recently returned from a holiday/safari in Kenya with my family.
We were travelling around and we went through the town of Nakuru on the third day of our trip, where the most unexpected sight was seen. Up until now the only two wheeled transport I'd seen were thousands of chinese made rugged bicycles, the odd chinese big wheeled step-thru and motorcycles of upto about 200cc. All brands I'd never heard of..
....but then I saw a motorcycle with a strangely familiar rear end, as we got closer I saw the side panel, although the side badge had come off I recognised it immediately.... it was an early 1970's Honda CB350 FOUR like mine!!! I almost choked with surprise!
Unfortunately I couldn't get the camera out quick enough to take a pic. It was beat up, bashed, the panels were all different colours, the badges were missing but it was still running (it was being ridden at the time) and it still had all four original pipes.... albeit in welded and repaired condition, I guess a tribute to Kenyan ingenuity for keeping such an odd bike running in such harsh conditions! I'm guessing there can't be that many in Kenya. Such a surprise! After that I think I only saw two other larger than 200cc bikes the whole time we were there!
