chrome over plastic???

I was wondering  if it's possible???
i would like to install a plastic rear fender but i don't want to paint it.Does the process the same(if it's possible to chrome) as steel?
QA50 1969,ST-90 1974,mb5 1982,rz350 1983,shadow 1100 1985,vf1000f 1985,BMW K1 1990,shadow tourer 1100 2001,vfr 750 1994,vtr250 199?

Blinkers are plastic, hard plastic, and they are chromed.

Yes, it's done all the time.I looked into it when I was customizing my PT Cruiser and they first clean the plastic then put a special paint on it,then it goes into a vacuum chamber where the chrome is put onto the part.Type in chroming plastic parts in your browser search engine and you will find several who do automotive plastic chroming.

I use to do some chrome plating. there are 2 way to chrome plastic the way beelsamin said and another way that don't use a vacuum chamber ,it is chromed just like metal parts . the paint that is put on the plastic is a copper based paint

 I saw a production video done by someplace in california i think that'd developed a sprayable chrome system and their stuff looked amazing  i think the name of the company was fantachrome but i cant swear to it they offered their system for sale or offered a service where you send them the part they do it and return it to you but i never tried it itd be worth looking into if thats what you want
