Need some new Engine Fasteners Any Help
« on: October 05, 2007, 08:52:14 AM »
Hey Guys,
Does anyone know where I can find an aftermarket set of engine fasteners.  I'm looking to go with stainless allen types fasteners on the entire engine of my 74 CB550K.  If Anyone knows a source please let me know.  Thanks Chris

I ended up going with Stainless Cycle for my 550F. You get 85 fasteners for 20 bucks (or 25 if you go polished) vs. 14 bucks for 21 fasteners at those other places.

$25 isn't too bad, either.

I am going to document the entire teardown and rebuild, so I'll keep you all posted on my progress.  This weekend is the tear down process, parts list so I can start ordering, then comes the hacking and welding, seat pan construction (cafe), cutting one of my tanks to see how it comes out (knee slots).  Then I intend on making a new wireing harness to accomodate the relocation of the electronics and battery.  Some cutting and welding on the frame, then sandblasting before paint, and on and on and on...............You know how it is.................Chris
