Here is my resurrection project thread.  Can you say labor of love?  Wish me luck. 

Cafe is the plan.  I've already stripped her down quite a bit and I'll post pics as I go.  I still need to do a compression test, but she does turn over and has a fair amount of resistance so I'm crossing my fingers that the compression is still within spec.

Well that looks like a boatload of fun.  :-\  I can't wait to see the progress.  I've got mine in pieces right now, same year too.  I've been too busy working on it to sort out the pictures and start a build thread but I do have pics.  Go to Harbor Freight and pick up an assortment of wire brush wheels for your drill.  They'll be your best friend when it comes to stripping and painting that frame.  It looks pretty crusty right now but you'd be surprised what you'll find underneath.

Good luck man!  She needs a lot of TLC.  Try not to let the $$$$  get out of hand.  It looks like you are going to have to buy a lot if incidental items.

I am in the middle of a cafe build myself and also have a thread going.  I have and will be covering some of the things that you are going to need to do.

A little update.  An hour here and an hour there.  And I'm thinking about going back to stock rather than cafe.

I've seen bikes start off uglier than that, but I can't remember when!!

Ah yes, the 1977 J.C.Penney catalog. Any of those fine fashions would be stylin'. The one on the left would fit.


The hair was a lot bigger than those pix show - like this guy......


Throw in about 1/3 of a Mr. 'T' worth of gold chains and maybe some Puka shell beads and you're all set.
