Four Wheel Danger
« on: October 08, 2007, 05:08:35 AM »
Although I maintain a 2-wheeled mind set, I recently find myself looking to my modest 4-wheel collection
when the time comes for that early a.m. blast around the countryside.
I find this tendancy troubleing (sp?).
The cars are easier to take out,I guess,--no helmet, no special clothing, et.
Just jump in the thing and go.
Someone please straighten me out on this.

Fine looking 4 wheelers you've got there. Those would make it really hard to choose which one to take a ride in. ;D ;D ;D

Jump in and blast around the country side.... That hardly discribes a trip in a model T  :D
First you've got to crawl under it and check the oil.. Drip some on your face in the process. Climb in and turn on the buzzers..set the timing so you don't snap your wrist when you get cranking and Don't forget the parking brake. Crank away until you're fed up.. then reluctantly go find the 6 volt battery charger and crawl into the trunk and hook it up... wait five minutes and try the starter. Not charged enough yet. wait ten minutes.. crank and finally get er' fired. Jump out and run around the back, crawl in the trunk again thats now filled with toxic fumes and disconect the charger. Hid your head on the trunk lid on the way out in the process... and now your ready for a 35 mph rip through the country side.  8)

Or you can throw on some leathers and a helmet and scoot off on the bike, clean and free..

Boy, I'd love to roam around your place for an afternoon, camera in hand of course. My solution is flip a coin. ;)

Matt,
Wintertime starting of the "T" is even more fun.
Everything you mentioned in addition to jacking up the left rear wheel
because the thick trans oil makes it act like it's always in gear.
After starting try to stop the jacked up wheel from turning
without killing the engine.--BTW, don't hold your boot up to the
spinning tire--who would do that anyway?

Okie,
Very nice looking '28 or '29 I think.
Couple things, though.
It seems to be tilted forward and the wheels look a little wider
than spec.
I think Henry did offer yellow, but with black fenders and top ?

Long since the advent of the wheel, man has yearned for ways to blow his hair about.  The invention of the gas engine made that easier.  2 wheels or 4, it's all good!

Race on it!!!

So Ger, we know of your 2 and 4 wheels, and your affection for planes.  Any boats in your stable?

Gerhed, mine is a '29.  It is the 3rd '29 I've had.  Actually, the yellow paint is a Ford color for Mustangs in the 90's.  I don't think my A/C and power windows came from Henry's factory either.  What is yours?  The radiator shell looks like a '28 or '29, but the body looks like a '30.  I may chop them up to make street rods, but I still like original cars too.

Okie,
Mine's a '30.
Canadian made--some slight differences--like, I think my steering is '29
and the engine number starts "CA".
The car is unrestored.
But I've only had it since '62.

Sam,

I'm afraid the CA95 is my only non-running non-titled bike.
Under my stewarship it's never made a sound.
But it is complete.
Color is bright blue.
The front suspension is very attractive.
Has white wall tires (tyres) which may be stock?
I just enjoy having it around.--no pics at the moment-it's buried deep in the shed.
