Picked up a Yamaha IT 465 on Friday......
« on: October 08, 2007, 11:02:46 AM »
.... and it was free!  Put in fresh gear oil, new plug, fresh pre-mix, lubed chain and clutch cable, inflated tires.  Step son and I then kicked it for about an hour and it started up.  What a beast!

Questions:
Which way is the choke on (lever up or down)?
Does anyone know where I could find a free manual download?

p.s. I posted this on the Yamaha Owners forum as well.  So far only views.  Not even a comment about getting a classic enduro free.  Just one more example of how THIS is the best motorcycle forum!

I posted on http://www.yamahaclub.com/forums/

I hadn't heard of that one. BTW, I tried to get on at USA2strokers.com and couldn't. :-\ Don't know what's going on with them. Just thought I'd give you a heads up on that deal. ;)

                                    Later on, Bill :) ;)

Check this site.  http://www.yamaha-it.co.uk/    They have a couple of old reviews with jetting specs etc. Your carb should be a Mikuni VM38. Here is a link for the tuning manual    http://www.mikuni.com/pdf/vmmanual.pdf     I used to have a 175. I think the choke was off whenever the lever was horizontal but that was many beers ago!
