I Looked For Info On This CB550 Before And Got No Response.
« on: October 08, 2007, 03:24:23 PM »

I found a very peculiar version of a CB550, printed a picture of it and some time later, went back to try to find any updated info on it. Now that I've gotten to where I can post pictures better, I can put one of 2 pictures I have of it. I am working to get the other one to where I can do it too!

Hmm...  There seems to be something along the lines of a large cutting blade missing from that mower. :-\ ;D

Yeah, I noticed that too! ;D There was supposed to be a follow up with some mods and improvements. But I never saw anything and haven't been able to find the original posting either.

I've got an extra CB500K motor and I've got a sears 18hp 42" cut rider. ;D Now, if I could only get things lined out to run the wheels AND the blades off of the trans! 8) ::) ;D Basically I'm kidding Buuuut, I HAVE had some thoughts about something along that line. ;) Hmmmm. Wonder just how fast I could cut my yard (about a half acre)? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
                                   Later on, Bill :) ;)

I like this version of the 550 better.  A good performer, I'd bet.   ;)  Of course it has a 500 in it, not a 550, but it's the same thing.

Is that a cafe seat? ;D

          Sparty,

Meant to acknowledge your question earlier, Sorry bout that. :-\  Now I might be able to afford THAT "Cafe seat". ;D ::)

BTW, did ya catch that "350F Minibike"? ??? :o Kinda makes ya wonder what's next, doesn't it? ;D Could of used the old engine compartment for storage, until he ran the exhaust through it. :( ;D  Also, did you notice the gas tank is in the rear, just like a Ford Pinto. Anybody remember the big deal over the Pinto gas tank location? ;D

Saw a Cushman Eagle on ebay once, that had a Honda 350 twin motor in it. ::) Wish I'd saved the picture of that one. Interesting what folks will do, when they've got too much time on their hands.

One more thing, there used to be an MG Midget around here, with a "Blown Small Block Chevy" drivetrain. ::) Sure would hate to see that thing loose traction!  :o :o
                                Later on, Bill :) ;)

Hey, Bill, don't you have an old Super Hawk laying around?  I used to hear about guys putting 350 kits in them, back in the 60's.  Is this what they were talking about?

I can't find the picture right now, but the Don Garlits Museum in Ocala, Florida had a lawn mower with a 426 Hemi in it;  and they had a video of it actually working.

Have you seen the Ultimate Chain Saw?

Hey okie, Naw, the 350 kit was actually a conversion kit to enlarge the 305 motor to a 350 twin. Powroll one one of the companies (there may have been more) that seemed to be the most popular. Ha, I'd like to see the "Hemi Mower"! Now, that would be just what the MOPAR Fan would want. ;D Kinda of a "Tim The Tool Man Taylor" kind of job! And No, I haven't seen that chainsaw. Got a picture?

That Super Hawk with the "four" in it has been talked about here. I posted a picture of another one and asked about any info on it and got some responses with the picture you posted here but, no real info. Here are the two I posted.

You know, as I'm looking at your picture, okie, I'm noticing that this one might be yet another conversion. I'm starting to wonder just how many of these things are out there? I'm also wondering just how you'd use the kick starter on this last one. The brake pedal/footrest is obviously in the way.

MrZxp, got any more on the 350F Minibike? If so, we'd like to have you share it. ;)

We're starting to see quite a collection of a variety of Honda powered "Oddities" aren't we? Wonder if it'd be worthwhile to start a thread to place them all in, as we found them? Anybody?

                                Later on, Bill :) ;)
