76 CB750f Rear Brake Pistons FRIED!
« on: December 16, 2008, 05:37:44 PM »
So the bike I recently bought, sight unseen, is as you probably would expect, very close to a POS.  I, being a seeker of challenges am tearing in anyway.  My current issue is the rear brake pistons are trashed.  Pitted beyond use I am pretty sure.  I can't seem to find any good replacements, am I looking in the wrong places?  The bike cost way to much to go NOS w/ the pistons but I not seeing any other options.  this thing is trying to force me into breaking it down and parting it out but I 'm not beaten yet.

David Silver Spares $62 each (part number 43205-371-006)

Or get two made up in stainless steel

or http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1976-Honda-Goldwing-GL1000-Rear-Brake-Caliper_W0QQitemZ370130715626QQihZ024QQcategoryZ35592QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Or use a CB750F2 (also used on CBX and some DOHC models) caliper which will fit in and are a better caliper-single piston

Ah GL1000 it is.  There are a good number of those calipers on ebay.  One will be a piston doner.
Thanks guys.
