Hello from Arkansas
« on: October 10, 2007, 11:24:17 AM »
Hi all.....My names Michael and I live in Ouachita national forest area of western Arkansas.   I've been riding bikes since I was a teen(50 now)and i'm also an airbrush artist that caters to the biker community.   I've been without a bike to ride for several years but thanks to Ebay i'm now the owner of a slick little 81 Honda cb650 Custom with 20k on the odometer.   I have no plans on leaving it in stock condition and will be tearing it down this winter for some slight mods.....mainly choppin it.....i'm keepin the swingarm but lookin to extend the front forks a few inches and rake the frame to get the front wheel a bit farther out front....probably add forward controls and some apes to give it that chopped look.....then comes paint....not sure what i'm gonna do in that area yet but it'll be cool.

I started looking for websites or forums that cater to the Honda 650s and found this one.....I've enjoyed lookin thru the gallery at everyones bikes, and I look forward to learning all I can about these bikes from you folks, and i'll try and share pics of what i'm doing once I get into the project this winter.

PS....I'd love to hear info about this bike....do's and don't kinda stuff....what to look or listen for.....any model specific quirks that I should know about....etc......thanks.

Can't help you with info on your bike (still trying to figure out my own '78 CB750K), but welcome!

Welcome from Mich. as well. There are a number of 650 owners here so I'm sure they will chime in to help with any questions. Good luck with your project.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Hey buddy,

fellow Arkansansan here, but on the other side of the state in south east arkansas.  can't help you on the 650 info but you have come to the right place.  6 months ago if you would have asked me I could not have even told you what a cb750 was much less how to get one running! but thanks to this forum I am now the VERY proud owner of a 750 that SCREAMS!  I made the mistake of buying one of those Clymer manuals (wrong, cover to cover) everything you need to get any CB going or to maintain can be found here, just look for it.

welcome, and happy trails!  Bronc

Welcome from a fellow Arkansan. I live in Maumelle, between Little Rock and Conway. I ridden a many trails in the Ouachita but I sold my CRF250X when all my trail riding buddies pussed out and wouldn't ever go riding. Can you paint my bike with the original Candy Ruby Red? I'm restoring this winter and am looking for a good painter.

And here's yet another Welcome from yet another Arkansan! Don't have much experience with the 650 yet either. Plus, I'm in Western Arkansas also (Central Western), in Greenwood (just south of Ft. Smith). Enjoy your stay, it WILL be good, I assure you! ;)

Thanks for all the warm welcomes from everyone......I hope to be adding some pics of the bike and what we'll be doin to it over the winter.

GNXfan...I appreciate the opportunity to paint your bike, but I must tell you that the main reason I paint motorcycles is for the sheer artistic pleasure I get from being able to apply my airbrush art to someones bike or helmet, and unfortunately if theres no artwork involved then I honestly have no interest in the project......so in a nut shell, I don't do stock paintjobs or restorations......just custom stuff only.....the wilder the better......sorry dude.....I hope ya understand.

You guys can check out some of my work at www.airbrushartworks.com  The galleries haven't been updated in a long time....sorry....but, I am currently building a whole new website and all of my most current work will be posted then.....hopefully i'll be done with it after the first of the year.....please enjoy viewing what i've done in the past.

Thanks,

Holy Crap!

Nice work!!!

I don't understand how someone can actually produce art like that on a helmet.  Just can't wrap my brain around the concept of that much talent...

Once again, Nice Work!!!
