CB550, goldwing frontend, modern brakes
« on: July 18, 2005, 10:05:39 AM »
To put a golfwing front end o my CB550 all i would need ot do it press out the goldwing's triple clamp stem and press in the CB550 stem, right?    What modern rotors will fit on the goldwing hub? which calipers can be most easily adapted to fit the goldwings forks?

 Thanks
    Chris

Later goldwings like the 77-78 had dual disks. But had comstar wheels instead of spoked.

Oh, must have got my info mixed up...So are there any disks that will bolt onto the CB550 hub? a caliper that will bolt up to the fork? or will these things need modification?

Several members have had good success with using the other fork leg mounting points on thier 750. I don't know why it wouldn't work on a 550. Check the FAQ.

I found the FAQ on how to do the dual discs and caliper reversal, thanks for the heads up. Im still looking to see if I would be able to put modern discs and calipers on, I want at least two piston calipers.
Thanks
