I figured if you build a plate to mount a four block/cylinder in a CK 10 or similar, you cold bolt down, hone with roughing stones all 4 holes, change stones then reverse back across all four. My buddy has an engine shop with several hones. I can bore them on my mill.
Easy way to find out if it is needed,bolt a fesh honed barrel to a head usibg bolts, the measure with a dial bore guage..if no variance, its probably not needed.
Free hp and less friction if they are not round under torque.
I bet itworks well on newr syuff, not much extra metal on engine parts these days.
