it's defiantly gonna have scallops.  i'm still all over the place with the paint decisions..  i can't make up my mind .. but it's cool i got lots of time

my main problem with the color choices is the exhaust wrap ... i found exhaust wrap that is titanium coated and it has a kindof a satin sheen to it , and it is a green hue to it as well .... yes i could paint the pipe wrap black.. but ... i like it  .

                soooo  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

i been pretty busy and havn't done a whole hell of a lot .. but here are some little updates

so with the starter gone ,and most of the stuff attached to that .. i could give the battery a major downgrade

.5lbs

the stats on it

so with the tiny battery ... i needed to make a new battery box

then i wanted to bring the molded section of the old battery box all the way the rear
(just a little aesthetic thing that always kinda bugged me)

and that required some serious deli slicing with the cut-off wheel

and i finally decided on paint   (i think)
black base coat, i light dusting of red metal flake , then an even lighter dusting of silver metal flake . then lots of clear coat
this is the beginnings of that

truck bed liner undercoating

HOK ?

that my friend .... is ....... rattle can

the black base coat is low gloss engine enamel , then the flake is the krylon i posted last page .  and then lots of clear .. the photos i posted had about 10 coats of clear  ... wet sanding with 400 every few coats .

i considered droppin the coin on a proper paint gun this time around .. but .. i don't know ....  rattle can is less messy , and cheaper ...  it takes longer, and is a lesser quality ...but...

but really the deciding factor was the metal flake .. to do it proper , would require a separate gun , mixing .. mess .. money ...
and the "Glitter Blast" ,as it's called,  really is the business , aesthetically....  but you can NOT shoot metal flake through a spray can for very long ... and sometimes not at all .... i had it happen were i open the brand new can of red ,shake the crap out of it , press the nozzle and the spray goes full blast  emptying the can all over the floor ... these cans are very unpredictable and sporadic ..  i had to do a few spots over again (that's why you can't see the tank yet)   ... but, at 5 bucks a pop, it's not the end of the world

Rattle Can Metal Flake

it's not flawless ... but for a 40 dollar paint job it's not too shabby at all   ...thats $40 including all the supplies .masking, sand paper , rubbing compound.. ect

i really like it ... but like i said it's not flawless ... i only wet sanded to 600 grit .. i coulda kept going , but really ... it's a 40 dollar paint job , it can only go so far , ya know

my voice is hilarious in that vid ... i had just woken up and hadn't had coffee or anything yet

and yes , i too really wanna see it all on the bike ... but i'm still finishing the paint on the tail section so the bike is all masked off .. so you all must wait to see it just like i have to wait to see it  ;)

This bike is just non stop cool and unique custom made features. Well done. I hope you get her running soon.

And that paint job looks to be top notch. *EXCELLENT* rattle can job.

P.S. You kind of reminded me of Bruce Willis in Die Hard and such when his voice goes all grumbly. lol  ;D
