I think it looks good with the fender on, however it does loose the theme you are going for I think. Nice work on the Snuff-or-Not I also never heard of them until now also.

I could hear 'how could hell be any worse' in the background on the video you made showing the exhaust turn-outs. my fave bad religion album. they got really bland after that, too cleaned up sounding. but 'suffer' has the best lyrics. great writing.

at the end it was 'rumble in brighton', huh? I have a rolling stone magazine cover from the 80's I saved w/ the stray cats on it. but it's kinda trashed on the wall of my garage. says- 'stray cats in heat' and they're all super close together, like about to make out.

you know slim jim phantom, the drummer, was the slim jim guy on the commercials? at least that's what I heard.

oh, yeah. the bike looks KILLER! I love the rear end. some spots look a tiny bit lumpy on that rear fender. might just be the pic, though. you have any laquer putty, the red stuff that comes in a tube? some people call it glazing putty. I use that stuff to smooth out minor lumpiness. it sands super easy and you can put it on with a razor blade for pinholes and stuff. and you don't need to bother with a hardener. plus it gets you higher than glue, open a window to come down.

not to be critical. I really like this one. it's unique, and that makes it a million times cooler than most stuff you see. cool paint, and the design is really coming together. you should trust your instincts, cause you have some great ideas and a good design sense.

awesome!

I don't think there is a bad road down in that part of the state. I WILL live down there at some point in my life, if for no other reason that the great riding roads.

Might I suggest you check out the slimey crud run on oct.3 if you haven't already been to one.

i have limited access to the web  (friends houses)  so to cover a few bases here ...

i think as far as lyrics Generator was my fav ... but like you said, it's a bit over-produced .. Suffer is IMO when they really mastered their sound (i dig the punk rock harmonizing)     ... had no idea the drummer from stray cats was the slim jim guy  :o

the rear end IS a little lumpy .. i was gonna putty and sand it, the only reason i havn't ...is i was thinking the rough look kinda went with the theme ... but it does bug me ....(and of coarse now that you pionted it out , it'll bug me more  ::) )

sorry to draw attention to it,

I remember you saying you had a limited budget. at my paint store they have little tubes of laquer putty for 10 bucks or so, but the big huge tube is only $5. go figure. on rounded stuff like the fender, especially when it is curving in 2 directions, I'll use those rubbery plastic putty knives, or just make my own. find something like soft plastic then bend it to the shape of the fender and smooth the stuff over. cool thing is that stuff sands like nothing and dries instantly with no hardener.

but my paint store said they might stop carrying it in CA... they have a replacement product I tried from evercoat, that comes in a caulk tube and the stuff and hardener comes out all at once. they were giving it away for free to get people to try it. you might be able to just ask about it at a car paint store and they might give you one. but it's less buzz-inducing and not as easy to sand.

wish I was in the same area, I'd ask if I could cruise over and check it out. rock on my friend.

Its true.  Once you reach the WI border, its like a god poster.  Rays of sunlight break through the clouds an welcome you to a land that has hills and curvy roads.

Nice rebuild.  I dig where its going.  I think you're making it too nice and polished, but if I had my way everything would be covered in rust and road dirt and Simple Green would be illegal.  So screw me.

Lacquer putty or spot putty is just that, it is for tiny blemishes in a surface ready for paint. Spot putty shrinks over time and if used for shaping or in large amounts, it will eventually fall right back out. If shaping {i know it is harder to sand} you are far better off to use bondo or micro balloons, which is far easier to sand.

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D.. waaay ahead of ya there , i've actaully had that same thought

i actually agree with you .....  i wanted it grimey looking ..  i left alot of stuff just how it was though, like the shock springs are still all rusty ,but i painted the rest of the shock.. and i'm considering leaving the motor as is (no paint.....at all)    ...but i'm still undecided on that

and excellent point Mick (and an often over looked one too)  ....i was just staring at the rear end last night , debating if i wanted to fix it or not ...because, as i said before, it does bug me a little that it's not "perfect"... but at the time that's what i wanted ..now that the bike has a more complete look to it the little imperfections are starting to stick out like sore thumbs  ... hmmmmmm, what to do

Sorry man someone had to say it.  I might as well be that guy  ::)  As far as the bike goes I love it, its professional... but still out there and real and ridable. I say just don't over think it and let your creativity go where it may.... its worked good so far man.

yeah, I changed the avatar. pretty funny, huh. makes me wanna kick a guy down a well.

and yeah, what mick said is totally right. I just figured it didn't need reshaping just a little tiny bit for low spots. the stuff does shrink, so you wanna leave it a tad proud. for heavier stuff I like the evercoat brand of 'bondo'. i call it bondo but it's not. kinda like q-tips or loctite or any other brand that has become the general term for something.

I know I am jumping on this a bit late in the game, but what gauges did you use? I've got the original speedo mocked up on a single bracket, but I would really like to have both tach and speedo.. just smaller, as with yours. Also, what is the drive ratio for both?
