I have been a pipe dope.
I used a 77F cam, against advise here, I got it in a $20 engine. Sometimes I gotta learn the hard way.
Top secret (don't tell the gang it fits) The header is a factory 77f, 4-1 with a homemade 2 1/4" x 18" long muffler. I couldn't use my 76F header or 77 header with the custom 76 muffler due to the angled and smaller collector. I'm still working on a baffle, the current one was provided by a contadina tomato paste can!
Stock points and so far 130 mains in the F0 carbs on a new 4 into 1 cable. it idles amazingly well considering I haven't synched the carbs.
My tach is reading high, I've got another one to try I didnt wind it tight until it's broken in some and I know for sure where the rpm's are.
