« on: October 17, 2007, 02:12:48 PM »
Hey All,
I just picked up a used airbox for my 750F well I got it home and it is different from the one I have.
Look's like there is a difference's for the 77-78 F vs the K

in the pic #2 the PO cut out a little extra plastic to let it breath a little better.
I'm thinking going with the F model. I wish the K&N I have fit it is just a wee too small, like it shrank a bit. Im thinking of picking up a UNI Filter for it.

The later model runs quieter, which is what that bottom snout is about.
The earlier ones breathe a little better, but make more noise.

Paul,

I have a K & N in mine?! If I remember correctly it is a snug fit on the flange that the base of the filter sits on but it worked.

If any of you guys have a good gasket that goes between the 2 air box pieces I could use one. Do both boxes use the same gasket?

Doesn't apear to be the same. the 77 box has a gasket that fits snug in the top piece. the earlier one had a piece wrapped around the bottum piece.
