Will a '73 CB750K rear wheel fit a '7 CB550F?
« on: October 19, 2007, 05:35:34 PM »
Hi guys

Does anyone know if a '73 CB750K rear wheel fit a '7 CB550F? Axle diameter, etc etc.
I'm considering the purchase of a CB750K rear hub to build up for my CB550F Café project. Seems that the CB550 rear hub that I have is beyond spec for brake drum diameter and I need a better one.

Alternatively if anyone has a CB550 hub for sale, that would be great too.

Thanks
Jim

Brakes are different and you would need to make spacers.
All 500 & 550 hubs 71 thro 76 are the same 77 & 78 are different, If you were in UK I would send you the adress of a man who re-sleeves the 500 ones

Bryan

Thanks for that.

The CB750 hub that I'm considering has the brake assembly included and spacers are ok to make. Is the hub larger (and heavier) than a 550 hub? How about axle diameter?

Thanks again
Jimmy

750 axle is 20mm, I think the hub may be wider and not sure your 500 sprocket can be modded to fit the 750.
