Living in Cinci, Ohio
« on: October 18, 2007, 01:54:31 PM »
Hey all!

I'm considering a move to the Cincinnati Ohio area to work for a firm downtown (Vine and 4th).  Looking for any comments, good and bad, about living in Cinci.
- What areas are desireable to rent in and which are to be avoided,
- where are the traffic problems
- Should I ditch my U of Michigan sweatshirts?  :D

thanks in advance!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Get a Bengals shirt and you should fit in.
Laugh at least once a day.

"When the end of the world comes, I want to be in Cincinnati because it's always twenty years behind the times." - Mark Twain

I think that quote probably still holds true today  ;D

But seriously, I live in Ohio, but have only been to Cincinnati once so I can't really help ya.

I lived in Cincinnati for 6 years. I left there because of the racial tension and the crime. I lived in the Clifton area by the University of Cincinnati. In the time that I was there, my car got broken into twice despite the fact there was nothing inside it to steal. I was jumped twice, once by UC football players. My friends at Xavier University lived in fear because of a serial rapist that had been in that area. I haven't been back there in a while, but I do recall a few city wide curfews that were implemented because of racial riots. I believe that the latest one was 2001. I know that I don't paint a very nice picture of Cincinnati, but this is what I remember about that place.
