1972 or 1973??

The title on my CB500 says it's a 1973 model. The gauges are 1972. The VIN is 2007146. I think that would make it a 1972 model. I'm a little confused. Can anyone help explain?

Check your neck tag..
 Some states title a bike the year it is first registered, other by model year..

The American Honda Motor company says you have a 1972 model.
