are acell coils bad

read a story that said acell coils arent the best....if they are let me know you favorite brand.

I've had two new Accell's fail after a couple of weeks on my Volkswagen. Went back to Bosch and have'nt had a problem since
 Matt.

Don't know about bike coils though...

FWIW I have a set on my brother's DOHC cb750 that have been giving me trouble lately. Actually I think they went bad after two years. On the other side I have a set from the 70's on a cb750 and that mutha throws a nice spark even now.

Like above said I would go Dyna over any other but I would check out http://www.sandlcycles.com/ they are cheaper then Z1 give them a call they can get anything, and at a better price.

i ran accel coils when i first put my 64 galaxy together. after the 2nd one going bad in as many months i got away from em. same thing with the replacement accell coil i  put into the stepdaughters camaro with hei. it went south after a month and a half. go with dyna, good stuff and long lasting.

I have never run them but have had Harley guys swear by them. They say the key to long coil life is to use Accel spark plugs too. I have also had them try to tell me there is a difference between a turbo and a turbocharger!

As far as LT1 distributors go, I always use GM parts because they su*k to change when they fail.

i've been running Ecell coils now for two years and no problems here.
