1971 cb450 loping over 70

I just redid a 71 cb450 it runs great except when in 5th gear accerating from 70 going up a slight hill ,the thing styarts to lope and will not go faster??? I can live with it but i would like to correct the problem if i could.
I just put in new points and timed it....any suggestions???

Check your float bowl levels??

i think you`re lean.which a low float level will certainly cause.

valves adjusted, i think the idle air screw is 1-1/4 turns out ,floats  not sure would they need to be higher or lower?

i''d still check the gaps to make sureyou didnt lock nut one too tight...
