OK, finally got the GF's CL360 Scrambler going and it has no balls.  Crack the throttle wide open and it slowly gains revs.  It has NO get up and go.  In neutral, it revs slowly.  Both cylinders are firing, but the exhaust pulse from the right cylinder is much weaker than the left cylinder.

Could it be carburetion?  I'm thinking the rubber diaphragm in one or both carbs is shot and the pistons aren't rising equally or quick enough.  All the jets are clean and the bike starts and idles fine, it just doesn't like to go.  Ignition?  Are there electronic ignitions out there like the dyna for the twins?

Chain tension is fine and the brakes aren't dragging.  I've got to go back in to fix the kickstarter again, and while it's apart, I wanna sort out the running issues.  Any ideas?

Also, it is hemorrhaging oil from the bottom of the alternator cover.  I didn't replace that gasket since it looked good, so I guess I gotta replace it.  Problem is, I didn't think oil would be in the alternator cover.  Could it be the main bearing on that side of the engine is bad and letting oil out?  Why would oil be leaking from there (besides the gasket).

If the rubber diaphragms have even so much as a pinhole in them, it'll throw off the whole works. If it's not torn too much you can use some type of rubber glue to fix it, just be sure not to make it too thick as to make the diaphragm stiff. I used some type of generic conformal coating that I got from work and it turned out perfectly.

You could try the ignition box that Hondaman built for your ignition system if you want the power of electronic ignition without changing everything out.

Did you check the ignition advance unit?  Sounds like it could be stuck or worn.

As far as the oil leak is concerned, the alternator cover will have some oil behind it when the bike is upright or tilted to the left.  I'd replace the gasket (with a black Honda gasket, if possible).  The shifter seal is prone to leaks, as well.  Unless dirt, grit, rust, etc. got to the main seal, it will usually last for a very long time.
