braided brake line
« on: October 25, 2007, 08:51:11 AM »

I did some search  about this subject and it seem that HEL is the place when it come to buy brake line, but at $212 CAD(two front disc) it's not cheap! :o

Is there any other place where i could find a better deal?

Dont know what it costs these days, but I used to make mine up with parts I got from Earls supply.

-4 was cheaper but -3 looked so much nicer.

The nice part was they were braided all the way, not braided with steel tubing crimped on the ends that looked like a half done job..

Ditto.  Got all the bits from Dennis Kirk.  Not as "fancy-Shmancy" as a custom line, but I like 'em.

Where are you getting your price? A single line from craig is just over 50. A cant see a dual being 200. Especially since the US and canadian dollars are about the same now.

Take your old lines with you and visit your local hydraulics shop. They will make you a set for a fraction of the price.

Cheers

Well you can do 3 lines but you do not have too.the fittings from hel are little more than half the size of the old honda ones. SO 2 of them would only be slightly wider. The hel lines are also smaller in diameter so 2 of them side by side will not be that large. You just need a longer banjo from the master to put 2 lines side by side. Give them a call, you have nothing to lose with just asking for a quote.

Use new fitings though. Not the old stuff.

I like to keep the oem look as much as possible,so i'll go with three lines :)

And i've just ordered my lines(ebony look from goodridge) from Phat Performance, for a total of $103US  ;D
