Need help with sticker placement (CB350K4 Twin)
« on: November 08, 2007, 04:49:48 AM »
I got some NOS Honda warning stickers, some repro stickers from Sunrise Graphics (UK) and the rest from CBDecals.com (Afegrafix).

When the time came to stick them, I could do it with the battery routing caution and the helmet holders. The bike had the remains of the stickers when I bought it, and though the frame was painted, the pictures I took of the bike had proven valuable in order to assist with the right placement.

The shocks have also one sticker each, strangely in the side facing inside  ???, I have the new ones but as the old ones are not that bad I will keep them.

I have also the exhaust sticker and another one saying "Honda motorcycles, Made in Japan" or the like. I presume they were never in the french version -my bike-, but nevertheless, I don't care much about originality and I would like to put them. The bike looks mint, but tell you what, nothing says better "out of the showroom floor" that those new stickers. Even the tire pressure sticker, for the french market the second, small one with the Bridgestone model was not present, but I put it in place.

So, the question is, can anybody post a picture of where the exhaust caution sticker and the "made in Japan" sticker goes? Surprisingly, the guy from Sunrise graphics doesn't have much idea. I guess the "Made in Japan" goes in the steering neck, but don't know where exactly.

Thanks in advance

Raul

I think... I had that sticker on two of my 350's... the 'do not modify exhaust sticker' goes on the right exhaust on the inner part in the middle of the pipe, so on the upper half past the ridge.

I can't find any pics, though!

You sure? My doubt was whether it was either in the chainguard or in the right arm or the swingarm, as in the CB750.

Thanks a lot. I've seen the sticker placed in the chainguard too, but I guess it was for other models. What about the "made in Japan" sticker? Do you still have it somewhere around the neck?

Raul, see if you can get a look at a parts book as they frequently show them in the general area of fittment

For the CB350, the exhaust sticker is "flying" and can't really tell wether it sticks in the chainguard or the swingarm. The shock stickers don't even apear, as they come already with the shocks. It is hard to tell from the exploded view where does the sticker goes. If you haven't seen it before, you could not tell whether the battery caution sticker goes in the frame crossover or the fender etc.

I have never seen that one! Not that I can remember at least.... I'd love to know. I think hondatwins.com is still down, but I will definitely ask there when it goes live again.

No idea. That set is for a CB750K0. Seems like a general warning about not riding without proper training. The one with the curved text at the foremost right is also about observing the break-in procedure. I've never seen those stickers neither in my bike nor in any picture.

The guy from Sunrise Graphics sent me the whole kit, and told me that the "made in japan" was placed in the steering stem, right side. That's where the VIN is engraved, I told him so, and he replied "then in the left side". This, apart from some other inaccuracies -he was not ashamed to admit he didn't really know exactly where everything goes though- lead me to think maybe the CB350 never had that sticker.

I've never seen it personally. I really would love to have a full description & pics of your build over at hondatwins. I love those little bikes. I've actually just started buying the engines to rebuild because I've developed such an appreciation for them. From what I've seen you have a beautiful restore on your hands. It's really inspiring. I can't paint- nor do I have the place to do it, but what I saw looked beautiful. I think it takes so much more work to bring them back to stock, off the floor condition. So, if you ever have any other crazy questions I'd love to hear them :)

I restored a 69 CL350 and it did have that same sticker on the right side of the frame head from the riders point of view. That bike did not have the metal VIN plate that Honda later used. The serial number was stamped into the frame head and that sticker was placed just above the numbers in the same area.
