Topic: cb750 clutch springs

I have a 1972 CB750 K.  I am in the process of getting it out of the cardboard box it resides in and up on its feet again.  In checking the clutch spring length mine are approx. 1.440 in. in length.  The Honda factory manual I have says 1.257 in is correct free length. Since I have no info on what previous owners have done to this bike, I would like to know are these heavy duty springs, or just the wrong ones ?  I called a couple of local dealers, but no help.  Got started on the clutch due to sticking plates.  Any thoughts ??

After reading the thread, I can assume that these are not the correct ones.  I have 22041-300-000 part number from the Honda fiche as the correct set for the K2 model.  The dealer said this is correct, but they are no longer available. Question is can I use these springs ?  I have seen the Vesrah spring set at CycleX.

Probably put in there on purpose.. I always run stronger clutch springs, less chance of slipping.

I agree. Barnett springs with OEM fibers and steels.

Thanks for all the info..I still have one question, are the Barnett springs longer or are they the same length as stock and have a heavier spring rate

My Barnett springs measured 1.440" long, 0.105" wire diameter when they were new. I replaced the springs only and put my glazed friction discs back in. I'm no drag racer but the new springs tremendously reduced clutch slipping .
