What's the problem????
« on: November 01, 2007, 04:40:51 PM »

I try to start my bike today(cb750 k4) and i push the starter button for one second but the starter don't stop to crank even if i don't have my finger on the button!!!?
and the kill switch don't work ,so i had to turn the key off,

The only thing i did was to change my handlebar,i know it's an electrical problem but i don't know where to look...

Starter button switch failure, my guess.

I'm guessing the contacts of the starter switch won't separate either due to them "welding" together or a weak/broken return spring.  Do you know if brake fluid was ever spilled onto the switch?
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Are you sure your black and black/white wires inside the headlight shell are properly connected. Get a wiring diagram and ensure the starter button to starter are correct. Easy to get wrong...oh wait did you change your bars and switches or just the bars?

If only the bars then possible you pulled out one of the wires from the starter switch....open it up to find out....or starter switch is stuck!

good luck,
Andy

Hey all, yup my money is up in the handlebar the starter button wire is actually a ground so touch that wire to the handle bars and boom its gonna  turn the engine over. and  on a side note the kill switch even on kill will still let engine turn. open up that switch housing and bet you will find the gremlin  good luck.  have fun, Craig in Maine
