So story on this one is a client brought me a picture of Carpy's "torndao" bike and wanted me to make something that resembled it. .....client wanted "a black motor" and to use the stock batman type tank, and to keep the budget under 3500, including  price of original un-modded 1978 cb750k...so i could not do all the little detail work i wanted, but my customer was pretty happy...first time i did body work on a tank...

Carpy's bike...

some pics of what i made for him

wow...nice work! At the risk of sounding gay, I like your rear end better (lmao!!) That cleaned up tailsection looks killer.

What are you running in the way of an aircleaner though? Just mesh or something?

we are waiting on back ordered pods for the 77/78 carbs.  Apparently you need special longer pods so that the choke doesn't bind on the 77/78 carb sets...we may just go with velocity stacks...the bike sounds great with no muffler and the 4-1...can hear it 2 blocks away...

BTW...i don't think i will do another 78...to many little changes makes getting parts for them hard...

I have a set of the Uni clamp on chrome pod kits, PK-52, on my 77 carbs:

I think they'd look pretty nice on that bike.

I forget how close they get to each other, but when I get home, I'll take a picture of them and post it up online.

just curious: why do you have the fork gaitors half installed but have dust caps actually on the forks lowers?

we didn't use the stock headlight ears...so the gators kinda float.

Here's the pods mounted to the carbs.  The picture is a little dark and my pods are kind of dirty, but they're just black filters with a chrome end cap.  Says Uni on the caps.
