Count me in also.

I had an original in my hands a few years back and took some measurements. I have since drawn it up ready to machine from solid. Just been on hold until the economy picks up.!!

anyone have any idea on the weight of an empty cr750 tank? I've made a couple out of 14ga and I feel like if it were a race part, it would be made from thinner material...

Eric, first off, commiserations on your long standing Elvington S/S R/L 1000cc record being beaten. :(
Second, well done on your 187.8mph standing mile run the other week, not bad for a 1 liter sport bike. 8) 8) 8)

Now can you tell me where you got the cap from in your picture?

Sam. ;)

I just got off the phone to the people that make them in the UK.
He didn't get back to me as he has been on holiday.
He has sent all the bumph on what he makes and he thinks he has one cap left in stock.
I should have a price in the next few days.
I told him there are 5 people interested depending on price and he said that would make if worth casting more.
I'll let you all know as soon as I hear from him.

Hi Sam
The cap in the pic belongs to someone in Japan. It was sent to me to identify, not that I'm the definitive expert you understand. However, I passed it on to Kurrt Leibmann in the USA who tells me that it is a CR750 cap although the lever is missing.

The standing mile terminal speed on the Yamaha R1 has now been raised to 192.1. Hmm, not bad for a stock bike.

Oil tank cap is the OEM Honda cap from street bike. That is why there is no listing in CR kit parts for the cap. The dip stick even is of the proper length.  Used on our M3 Racing bike for 6 years of racing...worked perfect.

RE: Fuel cap shown in this post is NOT the CR or RC cap. If someone would just measure the ID of the fuel neck you would see why this is the case. That cap shown is a cap off CR110 50CC single and CR93 twin race bikes and was sold by RSC (HRC) up until about 10 years ago until stock ran out. I have had many of these in my stock and as the look the part, sold quit a few. If TT400 wants to make the proper ones, I can supply him with exact specs and might even send him the real deal to copy.

By the way...they were not alloy on RC750 works bikes..but magnesium.

And to make matters even better, all the CR Kit tanks sold, came with steel chrome caps on the 28 liter size (Dick Mann)  that were chromed! So OEM Honda and you have yourself a original kit part!

Smaller 2 liter tank with 971 part number came with magnesium caps.

Mark, Would be much appreciated if you could send me the specs of the magnesium cap. I can see if my drawing is correct.

I will PM you shortly about some of those 62mm pistons.

Hi Mark,

On the cr750 Kit I believe that is true, but surely not on Dick Mann's bike ? I have seen a strange (metal1) semi-round (flipping ??) cap on the bad pic I have ?

Bad picture... that cap is round just like CB750K0-K5 OEM Cap. NO did not flip up.
