Happy first day of snow!  Yes indeed, snow started to blow around today in SE MN.

Picked up my first motorcycle yesterday, bought off of ebay, as listed in the subject line.  AND pictured as my avatar.

Seems to have some problems, neutral light stays on all the time, blinkers don't blink, gas gauge may not work, gas is quite low, a LOT of loose wires hanging around all around the front forks.  Mufflers seem blown, speedo doesn't seem accurate, odometer reads not quite 21k.  And front brake locks.  Made it a lot of fun to take off the trailer.    >:(

Is the choke cable supposed to just flop around?

Engine and trans use same oil?  One fill hole and filter?  15w40 the norm?

Done some searching and a lot of reading already.  thanks

Shhhh! use the "S" word softly around here  :D
Welcome to the forum,
...first snow here in Southern Ontario too, it's completely miserable actually!

You'll have to post some questions in the SOHC/4 thread, more people will see them there.
anyway, loose wires, cables, seized brakes and lights that blink when there not suppose to and ones that don't blink when they should and blown pipes all come standard on used bikes, regardless of make or model. ;D
Seriously though, blinkers problem likely bad flasher, neutral light likely switch, choke cable should be tight and I don't know about the oil. Oh and front caliper probably needs rebuilt.

Yeah, more searching is required.  I'm  not one to make a new thread but will ressurect an old if it is applicable.

Choke cable though, that sucker is completly looose on the top, have to hold it with one hand to stabilize it, and use the other to pull it out.  Don't see anywhere it should be clamped.  I'll find that thread about speedo gauge clusters and maybe someone will have a pic to show me how it is supposed to be.

S-word!  none piled up, so we're good.  Street sweepers picking up all the loose leaves that have not blown away, and picking up those that have blown in.  Very windy this week.

Been spend all spare time ( on lunch break now) reorganizing the garage so there is room for this bike.  Wish it would start...would like to drive a little, too.  Of course, it did sit out last night, down to 20f.

I've got too much stuff in my garage!
