Shaved Valvecover CB 754
« on: October 10, 2007, 09:07:03 PM »
Anone shaved their cover, I did mine years ago before chroming, still looks so clean and smooth..

shaving = deGorping by removal of lines and letters..

The other thing I did way back was hex the barrels and head.. not actually hex but the corners are all cut way back at a 45 deg anle leaving a flat on the corners....we did things like that in the 70,s on choopers and customs.. my motor used to be in a lowered Saviour frame..

I grew up in the (first wave) Chopper Craze...

I cant post pics..a bit computer challenged ..

I used to have a chopper years back but kept the motor. I liked the clean..clean look I tried custom tappet covers, but in the end they always looked like extra baggage on the motor. I chromed all my covers, hexed the head and barrel, painted the cases and cylinder silver.. IMO looks the cleanest and brightest.

Removed electric start and put my coils in there and made it so stock cover went back on, used wire extenders to add new plug wires. Used red Thunderbolt (or volt?) plug wires...ran them thu the barrel an the did a 180 up to the plugs, they sorta stick in the cylinder so you can pull back or forth and get them all looking perfect.. stick to 8mm wire.

I think i still have the red wires, I will try to put on my magneto in the spring and try running them thu the barrel again..
