I had a Tom Collins once at a bar in Hayward, CA. That drink was horrible. It was like drinking sandpaper. No one has convinced me to try gin since. Blech!
On the flip-side I was at a party in high school and there came a point, shortly before sunrise, where we were just about out of booze. There were 4 of us still conscious so we scoured the house for half-empty beer cans (after checking for ashes
) and the host's parents' liquor. We came up with a little beer, 3 different flavored wine coolers (hey, it was the 1980's!), scotch, bourbon, vodka, rum, and 37 cents of change in one big glass. That was the best drink ever!
