K2: How does the fuel tap filter come out?

How do I get this bit out then guys? I don't want to force it as it looks too fragile!

That black rubber o-ring has to come out first.  Then the screen will be able to come out fairly easily.  It might have old gas gunk "gluing" it in, so you might want to use some carb cleaner on it to soften the old gas.

Put a new "O" ring in as well Steve as they dont half get hard and misshapen
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

If you undo the two screws holding the tap to the tank fit new washers EITHER 6mm "dowty seal" washers (Alloy with rubber insert) from a Hydraulic shop OR the genuine Honda fibre ones 16993-011-000 which are an odd size and thick so you cant get generick ones and damned expensive for what they are

Hey there Steve, sounds like a rebuild kit is in order. ebay has them a bit pricy but well worth it you get all pieces needed even new screws. Now I have gotton the right orings needed b 4 at my local hardware store. but id you need all pieces ebay is the way to go. good luck Craig in Maine
