The high pipe started with a header from Magnum turbos, First one was for a K and did not fit so I sent it back, abd got an F type so I used it. Then A muffler shop welded on a flange, and built the tail pipe with matching flange. later on I cut that and rolled the megaphone which takes a Hooker baffle. This was all for the Amen Saviour frame. Later on I sold the Red bike with pipes but less engine.
Eventually he decided to change pipes and sold them back to me. I jumped at the chance and put them on the green 73 with the stretched swingarm. Now that I had lots of ground clearance I sawed off the kickstand mount and shortened the struts, so its sits at 1 inch under on the fork, but the frame below the motor is still going uphill.. it can be lowered to 3 or 4 under on the front end for the track, but too low for the street. It is really quite low you can easily push it with one hand on the middle of the bars, and the seat is about 6 inches lower than a stock bike.
The cop bike pic I told about in a previous post. I called it the slug because I bought it to go to Sturgis and it sort of ran OK, so I figured itwould be better with a tune-up. Well it made no difference.. At times I had trouble keeping it at 70 mph in a headwind and could not keep up with others on that trip, also had 5 flats in 10 days on that thing!! It was hard to sell for 400 back then.. now I wished I sold it for 300 or less and kept the speedo..
