My old beater LTD1000 has the wrong pistons - a 1075 kit for a non J motor - that have never run well. No compression due to the differences in the distance from the wrist pin to the top of the piston versus J style motors. This due to a bad experience with a supposedly knowledgeable Kawasaki mechanic years ago. Anyway, it hasn't been cranked in at least 8 years.
I just scored a set of barrels and pistons from ebay and hope to change out for the kz1100 pistons off an 81 kz1100. If the seller has his years right, the wrist pins should fit. Hopefully the stroke was the same.
Does anyone know the stock displacement of the KZ1100 - 1981 - 1982? Seems like around 1083 or something, I can't remember.
