Is it necessary to remove the fork oil to replace the fork boots?

Nope, but you have to remove the forks from the trees

You could do it with fender and wheel on but would be trickier..

Whats the best way to jack up the 750 so that the front wheel clears for removal. I tried jacking it while on the center stand and started to lean to the right works better with two people I take?

Also on a side note I looked up the screw that the speedometer gearbox  and it said it was 5x16.  I go to the hardware store and get a 5x16 and its WAY to big who's at fault the parts fiche or me? I,m guessing me.  ::)

5mm by 16 mm long

Bike is probably made in Japan, I think they use metric there...
