Love the NO fender look. I'm considering doing the same on my 750k6 build...or maybe just a TINY front one to help deflect some crud lol.

Looking very good, but I would add a little chrome or gold to the motor. Just a little to much black with the tank and exhaust imo.

leave the chrome to the harley riding dentists.  looks goos.  I would put some bar end mirrors on it though.  Just my thought.  But all in all looks good.

Yes, I bought a gel cell that was an 8ah battery so it was a bit smaller. I also cut a hole in the bottom of the seat and recessed the battery in about 2 inches to save room. I still need to paint the bottom of the seat to make it more presentable though.

Nice looking bike.  Particularly like the tank and the exhaust!  Do you have anything keeping water off of the battery / electrics? Looks like the battery in particular is in line for a deluge when you hit a puddle.   Perhaps the original inner fender would help?

Looks pretty damn good!  Couple of questions though...
Do you have more info on that battery?
Are those rearsets home made?  If so, what material (steel, aluminum)?  Can I get close ups of that area?
How does the riding position feel with the rearsets in the pass peg holes?

I agree that some highlights need to be done on the motor, but not chrome.  I would do the points cover and the other one (brain fart, can't think what the hell is in there) and also the little caps on the end of the cyl head.  It would also look good if you had the rims powder coated to match the frame.

I bought the battery at batteries plus here in savannah. Ill get the info on it tomorrow. Yes, the rearsets are home made and my design. I wanted them both to be identical which they are and they work great. They are made from aluminum plate and aluminum bike pegs. I cut them with a jigsaw so they don't look as nice as I want them, but I have more of the aluminum so I will draw up 2 more and take them to a machine shop and get them cut and drilled professionally. Ill get  ya a close up tomorrow of them and info of how I made them. I plan to tweak them a bit still. I rode the bike for a 20 minute ride tonight and the riding position is awesome. Very comfortable and it gives it a more modern feel.  Im not big on the highlighting of the motor but to each his own. Its hard to see in the pics, but the spokes are black and I like the way the spokes contrast the chrome rim. After I did the frame gold, I had to look at it for about a week before I decided I liked it. As I put it together the overbearing gold went away and I really love it now. Anyways, thanks for all the kind words, it is very encouraging.

love the seat idea , very nice. useing speaker wire is a nice touch (i did the same thing).

i think you would be better off though with some kind of cover for it to keep all the crud and water off it , maybe like some homemade fiberglass work thats small enough so that it's not visable, just a thought

and i think your rearsets look fine, no need to redo IMO

have you rejetted yet .

I do plan to put a cover over the electronics. I will most likely glass it when I'm in the mood to make a mess. It will look much more presentable after I make the cover and it will keep all the junk off of it as well. That is 8 gauge wire from an amp install kit. I own a small stereo shop so I have lots of that stuff laying around. I'm not sure where to mount the starter button yet, for now it is under the seat. I use it to start the bike when its cold, all other times i use the kick starter. No, I haven't re jetted. I rebuilt the carbs and used the ones that came with the kits. The bike didn't run at all when I got it so I'm really happy with the performance it has. Does it make that much of a difference?  Thanks for the compliments

well i know for my bike(75cb550f) rejetting made a huge differance, my mods are similar, exept for the cam.
putting pods on increases air flow ,your chopped exhaust does also,  now you gotta increase fuel flow.

my advice would be to leave the slow jets and the needle position stock, and bump up the main jets a little ,
i rejetted from 98 mains 110s and it was like a whole new bike

Very nice.  I like that rear wheel. I've been considering black spokes also so it's cool to see how it looks.  Nice rearsets too.  How tall are you?  I've considered the passenger pegs, but thought it might put my feet too far back.  A machine shop will probably charge you more than you might think to cut your rear sets.  If you have a bench grinder at home, (or know someone that does), pick up a nylon mesh wheel.  They make a mandrel so you can use them on angle grinders and drills too.  They're pretty cheap and they do a great job on smoothing out aluminum.

You can order one online from:

www.mcmaster.com

Wheel part number - 46615A28
Mandral part number - 46605A35

You want to use whatever power tool you have that spins the fastest.  You could even buy a cheapo bench grinder from home depot for like 20 or 30 bucks and still come out ahead of what a shop will charge you.  If you decide to do this, pick out a wheel diameter that fits your grinder and get the appropriate wheel reducer bushing.

PM me if you have a any questions and I'll be happy to answer.
