I lived in Olympia WA in the early '90s being a riOt grrl in a couple bands and what not, hung out at Evergreen State - used to come down here a lot and ended up liking it way better than Oly so I (eventually) moved here after a hiatus back in Michigan to get my degree.

what bands? who knows, i might have played with you...

'The irrelevant'  (lol) was the biggest one that played a bunch of shows - mainly in Michigan. The band broke up and most of the members moved to Oly where we were in several 'jam-bands' where the members kinda came and went. We played parties/mini-raves at Evergreen and in Tumwater at a big 'communal' house and out at this place in Little Rock I think, called 'Rainbow Valley'.

Some of these jams would have like 20 people in a drum circle and then a dozen people with various instruments with singing and dancing - pretty intense tribal kinda music almost - kinda psychedelic punk-funk-grunge stuff? lol. I remember 'Flat Black Cat' being one of the bands that we played with. A lot of the same people that hung with 'Fits of Depression" hung around the same circles, too. There were other weird hippy-named bands I don't recall - "avant garde" type weirdness.

A lot of the more specific details were ummm  clouded by the influences of the time? lol  To paraphrase Honda man "If you remember the [early '90s in Olympia], you weren't there!!!"     ;D

LOL. . . actually, in a round about way, yes? (all the #$%)&$@!!! rain!)

I do miss the local Lucky Lager dark that was at several of the local pizza places (I have never seen that beer anywhere ever again) and I used to ride my bike past the breweries in Tumwater all the time. I don't recall the water being spectacular in anyway, otherwise however.. ..he he

No, actually all the rain finally got to me and I wanted to do some more traveling / wandering (in my VW camper van).   ;D

Nope.. ..went to Tenino a few times but not to any meets. I was just into old VWs back then, no motorcycles or anything.

I love Whizzers. . .another toy I wouldn't mind having. I think I saw somewhere that they just brought back a replica engine kit?  that would be soooo kewl to bolt into a vintage bike frame. I don't know if I would want to try and lug around on a vintage bike frame WITHOUT an engine!  lol  (too many hills around here!)
