Just wondered what people think the best looking SOHC4 bike is - standard trim and shall we say the earliest incarnation of each type.
Please try to be objective and not just to vote for your own bike (probably easier if you have more than one type!) . I am particularly biased towards the 350 as I think it is a pretty bike - but I'm not going to vote!!

Ok I tried to keep it simple and based on the earliest incarnation of each of the basic Honda 4 engine sizes mentioned on the SOHC4 website (not all the different versions) but If anyone wants any particular bike added I (or Steve it seems) can do it....!

what is the only stock piece i just have to have for my 400f project? those twisty exhaust headers! good thing loonymoon specified the early years though... I think the more upright riding position of the '77 did the model in.

I have to go with my 78K. It is a little sleeker looking than the earlier Ks and I think is nicer than the f models, besides maybe the comstars.

I like the 400's exhausts but I think that the bike is a bit too 70's sport-aggressive looking for me- sorry guys. I prefer the tank on the 350 as it's less square and I like the "knee pad" area! Also the clocks are prettier on the 350 and other 4's, I don't like the idiot lights being in between the dials on the 400....

I know I said I wouldn't but I may have to vote...... (hey it's not gonna win is it!)

Its gotta be the bike that started it all the 69' cb750K0. That duck tail seat is a thing of beauty.

I think the 400 was the best looking. I remember when they came out, I was still riding my 350Four, and I thought WOW!!. I wouldn't buy one though, too small. I looked at one a couple of years ago, looked like it was in good shape, but I thought, "Man, that's tiny." I'm 50 lbs bigger than I was when I started riding.

Well of course any of the 750's (even the 77/78 K7/K8 "Red Headed Step-children) are the best looking SOHC-4's, but if I had a choice of the "tiddlers" I'd choose the 350F, it's definately the prettiest of them all, the 400/550F were too "slab sided" for my liking, whereas the 350F had a bit of style about it.

If I wasn't 6'4" tall and 260 pounds, I'd have one for a "runabout", but for serious highway work you need a real bike, in my humble opinion, ha ha! Cheers, Terry.

Terry must have been beat with one! See he passed one up a while back and it has come to haunt him. He has nighmares about the experience now. We should really all chip in to get him some help!

Nah, I always thought the K7/K8 was pretty "ordinary", but it wasn't until a K7/K8 owner, Terry Quail, described his own bike as a "Red Headed Step Child" that I realised that I was not alone in my way of thinking. I'm sure they're great bikes, but compared to the earlier CB750K's, they really suck in the design department.

Honda already had the DOHC CB750 in prototype by then, and the K7/K8's only real purpose was to ease consumers into the "look" of the first DOHC CB750K, which they then quickly Made over into the CB750F when sales initially plummeted through the show-room floor.

The CB750 K7/K8 always reminds me of the last couple of years of Elvis' life, you could still recognise him for what he once was, but his good looks had all but gone, to be replaced with an obese, bloated body that you knew wasn't gonna last much longer! Cheers, Terry.

But see terry, the unmodified 78 will usually beat the unmodified 69 - 76! top speed is about the same but we have a better chance of getting there!

Remember the fat elvis lost performance, that did not happen to the 78!

Besides at least the 78 has a better looking front fender!!

Course i am talking about the K, the F has that ugly 4 - 1 exhaust!!!:P

But then any 750K looks better than almost ANY hardley!!

Isnt this fun!

I hate to break this to you but your bike (according to the photo) does not need parts it needs an engine! That may be why you are having a hard time starting it. Yes it is quiet but Fred Flintstone would not ride that. What is Mukavaa päivänjatkoa. I know!!!! It is code for " I wish I had a CB750K8!

OK OK it is time to take off the gloves. Terry " I fart in your gereral direction". The reference to the K7-K8 as a "red headed stepchild" was concering the availability of aftermarket parts. We all know the reason the 69-76 parts are so easy to get after market parts is because the crap broke or fell off so much Honda could not keep parts in stock. The bikes are pretty (sorry to use that word "pretty) much the same and are equaly embarassing to ride in the day time. Eldar, Master of the K8 Thunder, is the wise one who studied Honda bikes in Tibet, and it was his "enlightenment" that lead me to the truth. The K8 is unmatched and envyed by others. It is historical record that the K8 was sold in limited numbers by design. The K8 was not sold in Australia because ....... The japanese hated Australians in the 70s. Only seconds are shipped there.
Sorry the truth is not pretty. On the up side the K8 can now be pruchaced in Australia if the rider can prove themselfs worthy.
