OK OK it is time to take off the gloves.  Terry " I fart in your gereral direction".  The reference to the K7-K8 as a "red headed stepchild" was concering the availability of aftermarket parts.  We all know the reason the 69-76 parts are so easy to get after market parts is because the crap broke or fell off so much Honda could not keep parts in stock.  The bikes are pretty (sorry to use that word "pretty) much the same and are equaly embarassing to ride in the day time.  Eldar, Master of the K8 Thunder, is the wise one who studied Honda bikes in Tibet, and it was his "enlightenment" that lead me to the truth.  The K8 is unmatched and envyed by others.  It is historical record that the K8 was sold in limited numbers by design.  The K8 was not sold in Australia because ....... The japanese hated Australians in the 70s.  Only seconds are shipped there.
Sorry the truth is not pretty.  On the up side the K8 can now be pruchaced in Australia if the rider can prove themselfs worthy.  :D :D :D :D :D :D :D ;)

Well Terry Q and Eldy, I'm hurt. To think that you'd make this poll a personal attack on me and Aussies in general is hurtfull in the extreme. Geez, I didn't come out with any statements personally attacking you guys did I? Now you want to break wind at me? What brought that on guys?

Hell, I might have "alluded" that the K7/K8 is a fat slug of a thing, and an abomination not worthy of the SOHC CB750 title, and should be forever banished from this site and never again be discussed in this forum as a worthy SOHC-4, but geez, it wasn't personal guys?

Is this part of that weird "Love me, love my dog" (of a motorcycle) thing? C'Mon guys, can't we all be friends? Here I am, extending the hand of friendship, won't you take it in good grace? Please? Uh oh, PAAAAARRRRPPPP!!! Ha ha, suck eggs you pair of "Step-Children", I'm going for a ride! Cheers, Terry.  ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

eldar, Master of the K8 Thunder,
You know it is easy for Aussies to talk like that when they live in a place where up is really down and down is up.  It gives a new meaning to " you don't know up" .  I bet Terry has a K8 poster on his bedroom ceiling (it helps hen you use Viagra I have been told)!  Someday we will have to visit OZZIELAND and then I bet he will sing a different tune.

the other TERRY  (the one that has a bike that the gas cap does not stick up like a bovine navel, has a real seat, rear shocks that do not need to covered to protect the rider because they may explode, a side cover that covers the oil dipstick because the K8s don't use oil, and an engine that can run 50k before you would even think about what is inside)

Hey we better be nice or Glenn will be yelling at us!
These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.

Ha ha, I can just imagine you two ol' farts sneaking up on me on your dorky looking K8's, resplendant with "CHiPs" helmets and mirror shades, with sissy bars, and probably vetter fairing's with 8 track cartridge players belting out old Elvis songs thru crackly period "Honda-Line" speakers, ha ha!

You talking about my F2 mate? Oh sorry, you mean a K8? Man, I can never understand how Honda got look of that thing so wrong? As I said before, great engine (detuned F/F1) but horrible styling? Is it fair to say that the K7/K8 is the Ford Edsel of the 750 line? Ha ha, just jokes guys, no offence intended, Cheers, Terry. ;D

Do they still even make 8-track? I suppose they are all the rage in OZ land!

See terry, I ride a K8 cause I want my bike to be faster than I can run. The early hunks just dont cut it!

Actually Eldy, the fastest CB750 (apart from the magnificent F2/F3) was the 1969/70 CB750K0, then probably the F/F1. The K7/K8 was the slowest of the CB750's due to EPA noise and emissions laws tightening up in the closing stages of the 1970's, and wheezed down the quarter mile at a snails pace compared to it's predecessors. I've only seen an 8 track player once, but I've still got an audio cassette player in my garage so I can still play my old Jim Croce tapes, geez I miss that guy! Cheers, Terry. ;D

I own and operate an 8-track in my garage. Tull's Aqualung, CSNY at the forum, and the Door's live can be heard in the quality that only an 8 MM tape can produce.  A background hiss that would make a pit viper proud.  The "KLUNK" sound that lets you know you are about to enjoy another 12 minutes of muffled, doubled tracking, warbling sound.     Yea its old and so am I but i still think its cool.
I would start a thread about installing a 12 to 110 power inverter on my bike so I could run my 8-track but I don't want to stir up a hornets nest and have Glenn send me the Bird Flu virus. :D

I've got that album too mate, I was never really a Doors fan until I read the review of the Oliver Stone movie in Playboy in 1991, then went to see it and thought that Val Kilmer did an excellent job as Jimmy Morrison, particularly as he actually sang every song!

Anyway, I bought the album, and would jog for a couple of hours with it playing in my walkman, enjoying the heck out of "Roadhouse Blues", "LA Woman" and my favourite, "When you're Strange", ha ha! Great music, for sure! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Personally I have to say the '69 K0 and '70 K1 are the best looking SOHC bikes, followed closely by the 1976 CB750F.

I like the 350F and 400F models, and the 500K with four pipes, but the above bikes are the best looking.

Once again you are so right, she loved it.  After we went for a nice ride I found I had developed to very nice large blisters on my back, I told her that she might consider underwire for support.  Man that seat is so comfey.

Aw man, that brought back memories, just you, me and Eldy getting trashed on Canadian Moose-Piss! Dunno what it is about that beer, I've never drunk it since then, but I remember waking up the next morning thinking that it really, really made my butt sore? Weird or what? Cheers, Terry. ???

The best looking bike is the one that has just a set of handle bars and a chrome fender over a hot tire heading for the next turn.  That bike has one of my kids on the back loving every minute of it.  The K8 may not be the fastest, the seat may be the best, but Honda made a series of bikes that never lets any of us forget we are alive.  My K8 is a relic by all standards today, but like me it gives it all it has when it it has to.  I feel like I am keeping a dream alive everytime I start it.  When it lights up the back tire off a road strip it still makes me smile.  I give it a kick and know the both of us still have it.  I have ridden horses all my life and it always amazes me how alike the two are.                            OK now it is your turn to make a smart ass reply.

K-5 Baby, this is simply the best of the best. This is when R&D finally got it right unlike the prototype early years. ;D

And definitely not like the later years when they weaned the bikes back a bit so the girlie could ride'em. ;D

I read an article by the head of the original CB750 design team (I cant find it now, damn).

Goes on about the "swoosh design" on the tank being in harmony with a Buddah statues' eybrow (at Sochiro Hondas
request, it was a perfect form or something)....and how the rake of the engine and the angle the pipes bisect is repeated in the line of the ductail  and it all relates to the hypotenuse of cover vents and the  hoo-dacky squared etc..it all made sense to me
reading it.

Thing is, they got it right first time and in my opinion they shouldn't have messed with it................ K0
