CB400/f questions (cam chain & frame mods)
« on: October 08, 2007, 06:45:10 AM »
Hi all!

I'm about to jump into my winter project: 75 CB400 w/ front end and rear wheel conversion (like Ohio Cafe Racer's CB350RR)

I plan on using a cbr600 F1 hurricane front end (forks, trees, wheels, brakes, clipons, etc..) and a hurricane rear wheel in the stock cb400 swingarm.

My questions:
Now that I am adding new wheels and brakes, what mods should I make to the frame and swing arm. I have been told before that handling will suffer since the frame was not designed to deal with the extra grip. Any input?

Secondly, I have read about cam chain issues with the CB400. I'm about to tear down the motor. Can any one recommend upgrade parts for the cam chain? Any other "must have" internal upgrades?

I'm trying to keep this relatively low buck. But we all know these projects get out of control quickly   ;D

How's that front fork conversion going?

I think the gentleman that runs this web site:

is a forum member. Scroll down to see the
